While Story of Seasons is a fantastic game, it is currently limited to the Nintendo 3DS. The only downside to the game is the overly long opening tutorial. Story of Seasons manages to capture everything that was enjoyable in previous titles of the series, and add splashes of new content, without overwhelming the player. The title offers a number of excellent marriage candidates, a fulfilling narrative, and well-balanced events and festivals, making it a pleasure to get lost in. Players can place themed buildings on their farms to specialize their output, with cheese, wine, fabrics, and furniture all acting as different pathways for gameplay. Story of Seasons is packed down with gameplay, allowing players to not only manage their own farmstead filled with animals and crops, but also a number of fields for rent, and a small shop. I found the selection of bachelors to be…pretty underwhelming haha, so having the option to woo the more attractive Mineral Town residents opens up your options lol.Released for North American players on the Nintendo 3DS during 2015, Story of Seasons was the debut game marking Marvelous' split with Natsume. Not only does it unlock more events, but it also allows for you to marry the Mineral Town boys. One thing I’d recommend is if you have (M)FoMT is to hook it up to DS. I found collecting the harvest sprites super cathartic, and especially at the beginning when you unlock a load at once it feels very rewarding. There’s not too much customisation outside of your farm, and I’d agree it’s absolutely more of a farming game. The soundtrack also slaps, I’ll put it in the background when I’m working sometimes haha. I can absolutely recommend DS – it’s my favourite HM game! I’d say the biggest appeal are the graphics, it’s got such a charming style and I kinda like the 00’s manga style portraits more than the more recent polished style.
